TWO BANDS TWO BUCKS. This is a showcase, a chance for bands to show us what they got! Geniass Productions is looking for bands to play a great show, bring a good crowd and are eager to share their music with the Asheville live music community. Show us how passionate you are about your music, and perhaps you will earn the chance to play a primetime slot at The One Stop. We will poll at the door to see who came to see what band.

First band plays from 8-8:45PM and the second from 9-9:45PM.

Band interested in performing please email TwoForTuesday@AshevilleMusicHall.com

THE FEATURED CREEPS:

The Featured Creeps started in November of 2010 in a storage unit in Asheville, NC. After a brief hiatus from previous bands, Scotch {bass, vox} and Todd {Drum kit, background vox} started kicking around a few ideas by playing songs from some of their favorite bands. Mike {Guitars, vox) arrives and now The Featured Creeps have a set of their own unique, scorching originals in addition to two sets of cult-favorite-classics from their favorite bands. The recipe reads like this: punk, alt rock, psychobilly, nasty funk, goth and a little low-rock.

PAWTOOTH:

Members of Pawtooth are Penelope Zing on vocals, Dee Wulf on guitar, Nick Peterson on drums and backing vocals and Justin Lee on bass and backing vocals. Collectively the members have performed at notorious venues up and down the East Coast from Jacksonville, Florida to New York City, including famous venues in New York such as CBGB, The Continental, The Pyramid & The Luxx. Also their collective resume includes performances at the 9:30 Club and The Black Cat in DC, The Masquerade, The Riviera, Eye Drum and Dark Horse Tavern in Atlanta (just to name a few from GA), Art Bar, New Brooklyn Tavern and Ground Zero in South Carolina, and many venues in Asheville including our own Lexington Avenue Brewery, Emerald Lounge, The Pulp, Stella Blue, Vincent’s Ear, The Get Down and too many more to mention in The Carolinas, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, Virginia, Baltimore, DC.

Lead Singer, Penelope Zing has been compared to a mixture of Karen O from Yeah Yeah Yeah’s , Amanda Palmer from Dresden Dolls, PJ Harvey meets Grace Slick inspired melodies with vocal styles reminiscent of early Siouxsie & The Banshees; Big, pronounced and unique.

The band’s first EP, “Your Bullets Be Damned”, avavilable only on Band Camp at the moment, gives us the post punk, 80′s influenced ear candy of such straight ahead, hard hitting and energertic songs like the political “Unit 22″ (named after a concentration camp in North Korea), “the Ride” an anti-ruphenol date rape song, and the rock gothic “Pariah”. The first EP has primarily been a post punk, power pop affair, with some forays into raw garage rock stylings.

Along with the “Your Bullets Be Damned”, Pawtooth plans to release a full length album this spring on the usual commercial outlets . This next release will have more groove heavy, danceable songs, still with an early 80′s influence, but generally not quite as aggressive as their first cuts on the EP. Expect more orchestration, samples, backing vocals and keyboards, along with their usual power trio arrangement.
