6PM CINDERCAT
Cindercat’s broad range of musical influences emerges through a unique tapestry of sound. They create a hypnotic flow, manipulating the soundscape with soaring peaks and spacious resolves. The band thrives on improvisation, continuously reshaping their live performances.
7:15PM SKYWALKERS
A brand new musical experience has been conceived from the ruthless, creative development mecca that is Asheville, NC. Three like minded musicians who are Phil Martin on bass, Andrew Kirk on Guitar and Jeremy Adams on drums, are developing a sound with influences ranging from the classic jazz fusion implications of Steely Dan to the deep, minimal yet progressive grooves of Swedish house music. Through their explorations thus far they have opened a new door of spontaneous creative development. Imagine feeling like you’re being wined and dined, but instead of eating and drinking, you are listening. The creative process of this ensemble comes about due to the open minded understanding of sharing ideas and the passion to ultimately share it with the universe.
8PM KONTUR
Hailing from Dayton, OH, Grant Elder a.k.a Kontur brings an electrifying atmosphere to all live performances. Kontur uses an arsenal of glitch tech, bright melodies, and powerful bass tones to drop his incredible auditory artillery deep into unknown conscience levels. His newly developed style is deep and courageous and is rooted in an abundance of musical influence.
Growing up playing in several musical projects throughout the past 15 years, Grant has created a developed sense for musical synergy. He tests the limits of hip-hop, glitch hop, and dubstep and is constantly growing and evolving. Kontur resides in Boone, NC and just released a teaser single entitled Zeugma off his forthcoming EP scheduled for release in early 2013.
In a world full of greed and hatred, weapons and destruction, Kontur brings us a “pocket sized” audible assault through his debut EP entitled Pocket Tank. Kontur, aka Grant Elder, calls this genre-infused piece of art “apocalyptic crunkstep”. Grant believes that Pocket Tank will break barriers of influence and make us believe in a world, that he believes in; a world where warfare is fought through music and art, voice and spirit, to bring about perfect cohesion and peace in the end. Pocket Tank is set to release late in Summer ’12.
