Guitarist, Bryce Robertson, and keyboardist Ian Taylor met at a jam session in 2009 atDoc’s Music Hall in Muncie IN. They became friends and formed a musical bond that continues to grow. The two instrumentalist began performing in several bands together, going on smalltours and hitting the festival scene of the midwest.
In 2014, In Flight was formed. Originally as an experimental duo and later as an instrumental rock group with a full band. The duo decided to relocate to Asheville, NC, in 2016 to be inspired by the surrounding nature and dig into the growing music scene.
In Flight has featured lots of great musicians to fill out the sound over the years and there’s still a handful of instrumentalist that continue to perform and collaborate with the group.
Bryce and Ian have over 50 original songs together that range from jazz fusion, prog-rock, electric bluegrass, and much more. There is almost never a setlist at an In Flight show and the songs weave in and out of group improvisations making for a original an unique performance each time! The band has recorded an EP, Into The Light, and a full length self titled album that can be heard on all listening platforms.
