And no, going to a Gwar show with a white t-shirt on doesn't count. When Bit Brigade takes the stage your mind will frantically oscillate between "Oh! Agh!! Please don't die!!" and "YES! He's doing it!!" Combining the dread and daring of a live video game speed run with the spot-on technique of a live band covering the musical accompaniment to everything you're seeing on-screen in real time, Bit Brigade will have you swinging between the two mediums. From thrashing about to live renditions of your favorite stage themes, fingers yearning to the sky in a rock 'n roll parody of sea anemones seeming to silently plead, "Please, feed us more fretboard pyrotechnics!," to being locked in stock-still rapture as the infallible maestro of the d-pad, Noah McCarthy, takes on the final boss and risks his video game life. The Cartridge Family Four who grew up on the same console video games that you did are now applying their combined musical experience and training to recreating some of your favorite songs from those very games.

The City Is Coming to Erase It All is Fink’s ninth studio album, following 2024’s Beauty In Your Wake. Recorded in Zennor, Cornwall, the album was made with a strict era-specific approach. Imagining a record Michael Chapman might have made, right down to the guitar strings. Grammy-winning producer Sam Okell helped guide the process: “If it didn’t exist in 1974, you’re not allowed to use it.” But this is nowstalgia, not nostalgia. “I want something new, but with the same ethos,” singer Fin Greenall explains. There’s a parallel between the restless 18-year-olds Fink once were and the autumn-aged family men they are now. Touring remains a compulsion as much as a joy, despite having played every major European city countless times. “The need to play your new material is so overwhelming that it trumps all the comforts and trinkets.” City is a product of this hunger for discovery, and idolatry of the album as a form – like we had in 1974. City’s cover mirrors its interior, the first song is the greeting, the instrumental closer the conclusion. It’s a story. It’s a record for people who, like its creators, are curious. People who happily face a little cold for music, who light a crackling fire back home, who sit with these songs until they’re ready to chase after their own blue sky.

SUSTO Stringband Justin Osborne has been performing as ‘Susto’ since 2013, when he formed a collectiveof fellow musicians and artists in coastal Charleston, South Carolina. Now a bona fideemissary of alt rock and treasure to the indie crowd, a lifelong calling coupled with acosmic push of serendipitous happenstance led to his latest venture: ‘Susto Stringband’. In 2022, some major shifts landed Osborne in Asheville, North Carolina, where at an open mic night, this newcomer to the mountain town was met with the warm embrace of local powerhouse americana vocalist Clint Roberts, clawhammer banjoist Helena Rose, and upright bassist Joey Brown (now Holler Choir). Lightning struck as an immediate connection and artistic chemistry captured a newsound and visualization that unfolds on Susto Stringband’s debut release from New West Records, simply titled "Susto Stringband: Volume 1." Nine of Osborne’s ballads, refrains and heart wrenching confessions, now drenched in the singular Appalachian sound of Holler Choir’s verdant harmonies and stringed arrangements, were recorded at renowned producer Mitch Easter’s (REM) Fidelitorium Recordings in Kernersville, N.C. Holler Choir's long time collaborator Ryan Stigmon manned production and mixing, with lauded engineer Jason Richmond recording the sessions and mastering the final product. Susto staples like “Friends, Lovers, Ex Lovers: Whatever” and “Acid Boys” are reworked with new textures in Holler Choir’s company, while Osborne’s reflects on life as a touring musician, separated from loved ones by time and distance. Drawn from the depths of his soul, new offering "Never Losing Me” is a promising letter of boundless love and care to his young daughter and son, to be understood by them in the future. A second new tune “Double Crown”, was co-written with his wife Caroline Osborne, describing the exhilaration of new love, while paying homage to Asheville’s famed dive-bar, The Double Crown. Osborne’s introspective musings on love, devastating loss, mortality and transcendence paint a sensual land and soundscape. Still, steeped in the emotive punch of the traditional string band sound, Susto Stringband presents an Arcadia like vision of pastoralism and harmony with nature, but with Osborne’s lyrics, there are landmines to dodge and mountains to climb. Loosely translated from Spanish, “susto” means “an intense fear understood as a condition of the soul." This defines Osborne’s creative output since the beginning. As an artist from the rural community of Puddin’ Swamp, South Carolina, inspired at an early age by gospel, bluegrass and folk, he’s come full circle with Susto Stringband.

Jimmy Buffett often spoke of “traveling the songlines,” a phrase borrowed from the Aboriginal tradition of mapping the land through music and story—paths that connect people, places, and moments across time. Jammy Buffet picks up that journey, where Buffett’s coastal storytelling meets the improvisational spirit of the jam band world. Led by singer-songwriter Bob Barrick, with key contributions from Brendan Mayer (son of longtime Coral Reefer Peter Mayer), bassist Andrew Cooney, drummer Tyler Gwynn, this Colorado–Tennessee outfit breathes new life into Buffett’s timeless “Gulf & Western” sound. Their live shows offer something for everyone: greatest-hit singalongs for casual fans, deep cuts for the diehard Parrotheads, and cosmic, exploratory jams for those along for the ride. Expect sun-soaked grooves, surprise segues, and barefoot boogie energy from start to finish. With collaborations featuring original Coral Reefers Peter Mayer and Jim Mayer, Jammy Buffet is quickly making waves in the Gulf & Western world, bringing fresh musicianship and modern jam sensibilities to Buffett’s storied catalog.

Dr. Bacon is a 4-piece touring Appalachian Funk, Grass and Rock & Roll band. Blending incredibly diverse instrumentation with broad, deep musical influences allows the band to perform a plethora of widely accessible, danceable music. The Dr. Bacon Live Experience is truly a spectacle to behold, bringing the audience on a musical journey that lulls and spikes in energy, caressing ears with lush beauty and whipping crowds into a tribal romp, shaking booties and shedding inhibitions. This manic versatility ensures that no matter what genre of music you identify with most, you will hear something that resonates. Dr. Bacon started playing together in 2012 on King Street in Boone as a 3 piece busking with acoustic bluegrass, folk, and 90s pop/rock/hip-hop influenced music. Several lineup changes over the years and a move to Asheville have refined and redirected the bands sound, incorporating funk, rock, soul, psychedelic and world music to Appalachian influences. The blending of several elements of these genres (often within the same song) along with unique instrumentation is the real Bacon flavor! The Keith Allen Circus is a North Carolina-based, high-energy musical project led by singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Keith Allen, best known from the jam band The Mantras. Blending dark rock, jam-band, and psychedelic electro-pop, the group features Allen, Kevin Purcell (drums/keys), Bradley Turner (guitar), and others, delivering a "high-flying,, death-defying" sound.

GA-20 Since 2018, GA-20 has been at the forefront of a traditional Blues revival. The dynamic throwback trio have long been disciples of the place where traditional Blues, Country and Rock ‘n’ Roll intersect. “We make records that we would want to listen to,” says guitarist Matt Stubbs. “It’s our take on the song-based traditional electric Blues we love.” Stubbs, along with guitarist & vocalist Cody Nilsen and drummer Josh Kiggans, strive to bring traditional Blues to the front lines of the modern roots music scene. “The focus for us has always been on the story, the melody, and on creating a mood,” Stubbs continues. “Traditional Country and Soul have all had these massive recent revivals. We want to be part of doing that for traditional Blues music.” GA-20 has drawn inspiration for their old-school sounds from the music they love by artists such as Otis Rush, J.B. Lenoir, Howlin’ Wolf, Junior Wells, Hound Dog Taylor, Earl Hooker, Johnny ‘Guitar’ Watson and so many others. Performing with what feels like reckless abandon, GA-20 brings a timeless immediacy to every song they play with a sound that continues to grow and evolve. The band uses vintage instruments and amps to produce their authentic sound, and favours traditional recording techniques, like recording live off the floor together in one room, to help recreate that energy and sonic connection. In their short history, GA-20 have been 3x #1 Billboard Blues chart toppers, 4x Boston Music Award winners for Best Blues Act, and have received multiple wins and nominations at the Blues Music Awards, Blues Blast Awards, New England Blues Awards, and have ascended streaming and radio charts at home and internationally. Medium.com has appropriately declared, “This is the kind of music that travels through time while taking from the era where it was born and turning it into something fresh. Dirty and raw…timeless and modern.” Jontavious Willis Jontavious Willis is resolved in his mission: to reinvigorate today’s Blues with the spirit of the past. Inspired by a time when the Blues were plentiful and rhythm reigned supreme, Jontavious leverages his unique sound—a synthesis of his Georgia heritage and reverence for traditional Blues—to get the world dancing again. A Grammy-nominated musician and songwriter, Jontavious performs original, toe-tapping tunes in the style of Delta, Piedmont, Texas, and Gospel Blues. Dynamic vocals, technical prowess, and an abundance of Southern charm keep Jontavious sending jolts of vitality through the Blues community. His upcoming album, signed with Strolling Bones Records, is a testament to his love for songwriting. With solo tracks as well as duo, trio, and full band works, he articulates a totally original take on traditional Blues. Jontavious features prominently in shows and festivals across the world, sharing his unique blend of time-honored yet modern, intellectual yet danceable Blues with all.

Pulling threads from dance music, funk, hip-hop, jazz, and beyond, 5AM Trio blurs the lines between electronic production and live instrumental improvisation. What began as producer/keyboardist 5AM’s vision to merge high-fidelity electronic sound design with the spontaneity of a band has evolved into a powerhouse ensemble featuring the dextrous drumming of Aaron Harel (ZONE Drums) and the guitar wizardry of Keith Wadsworth (Wax Future). Their shows hit with club-level sonic precision while delivering the fire and interplay of a full-on jam session. The Trio’s genre-defying sets have lit up major stages from Red Rocks to Sonic Bloom, Elements, Summerdance, Resonate, and Secret Dreams, sharing bills with innovators like Papadosio, CloZee, Opiuo, Lab Group, Break Science, Lotus, and Tiedye Ky. But beyond the festivals and flashing lights, 5AM Trio thrives on human connection. They celebrate community—shouting out connection and sobriety,, donating a portion of every shows’ revenue to tree-planting efforts, and encouraging audiences to create their own art in any form. In a scene where they don’t fit a single box—“a jazz band at the dubstep function,” as they like to say—5AM Trio embraces their role as a vibrant, non-native bloom in the electronic garden: always growing, always experimenting, always chasing the moment when music turns into something bigger than sound.

The album propelled Eggy into their largest headline touring year to date, while earning standout performances at major festivals including Austin City Limits, Electric Forest, and Suwannee Hulaween. That momentum only accelerated through 2025. Eggy continued expanding their footprint with extensive headline touring, a growing list of festival appearances, and a reputation as one of the most consistently compelling live acts in the jam and rock space. Around Halloween, the band sold out back-to-back nights at Cervantes in Denver, transforming the city into a pilgrimage site for fans with their themed run celebrating The Ballad of Blucifer.
Lefty Carmean is a North Carolina songwriter carving out country songs with grit, humor, and a working-class pulse. His writing carries the punch of barroom truth-telling and the weight of lived experience; three-chord honesty, perspective, and the dry humor of someone who’s seen the industry’s promises up close. On guitar or clawhammer banjo, he pushes a sound that sits between country-rock drive and classic Americana storytelling. His songs range from industry satire (“Better Country Music”) to worn-in resilience (“Matter”) to clean, aching heartbreak (“When Your Someone”). Based in Asheville, Lefty has been cutting his teeth across the Southeast in his own outfit with The Workin’ Men & accompanying local songwriter, Elizabeth McCorvey on guitar & banjo in her band—rooms ranging from The Lyric Theater in Lexington, KY to The Visulite—building a reputation for shows that lean into musicianship, character, and an unmistakable roots identity. He uses stage presence like another instrument, keeping his performances tight, and unmistakably his. The show will feature Marcus White, Jonathan Lloyd, Jason Hite, Andrew Lyles, Ben Colvin, Brandon Phelps, Ryan Barber & Josh Blake! Michael Eugene Archer (February 11, 1974 – October 14, 2025), better known by his stage name D'Angelo, was an American singer, songwriter, musician, and record producer. Widely regarded as a pioneer of the neo-soul movement, Billboard named him one of the greatest R&B artists, while Rolling Stone magazine ranked him as one of the 200 Greatest Singers of All Time. In 2025, he was inducted into the National Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame.He first gained attention after co-writing and co-producing the 1994 single "U Will Know" by the R&B supergroup Black Men United. His debut album, Brown Sugar (1995), was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and received widespread acclaim from music critics, who have credited the album with ushering in the neo-soul movement. It featured the title track, the Smokey Robinson cover "Cruisin", and "Lady", which peaked within the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100.D'Angelo then collaborated with artists such as Angie Stone, Erykah Badu, and Lauryn Hill, with whom he performed on the 1998 song "Nothing Even Matters" from her album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. His next album, Voodoo (2000), debuted at number 1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and received widespread critical acclaim. It was also certified platinum by RIAA. Its third single "Untitled (How Does It Feel)" was released alongside an impactful music video. The song earned him the Grammy Award for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance, while the album itself won Best R&B Album. Voodoo was listed as 28th on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.Afterwards, D'Angelo became increasingly uncomfortable with his growing status as a sex symbol. He then had numerous personal struggles, including depression, drug addiction and alcoholism, which resulted in limited musical output for several years. After over a decade spent mostly out of the public eye, he released his third and final album, Black Messiah (2014). The album debuted in the top five of the U.S. Billboard 200 and topped the year-end Pazz & Jop critics' poll by The Village Voice. It won Best R&B Album at the 58th Grammy Awards, while the single "Really Love" won Best R&B Song and was nominated for Record of the Year. He also contributed the song "Unshaken" to the 2018 video game Red Dead Redemption 2. During the production of a fourth album, he died in 2025 of pancreatic cancer. D'Angelo bio courtesy of Wikipedia
