Asheville bassist Quinn Sternberg is reuniting with old friend and fellow composer, Byron Asher, for a rare collaborative performance at The One Stop. Asher is one of New Orleans’ most prolific composers, writing and releasing music for projects including Basher, Skrontch Music, Nutria, and more. Sternberg was also deeply involved in the New Orleans creative music scene, releasing 4 albums of his original compositions and playing bass in countless original music projects during his 7 years in the city.
The two have frequently collaborated on forward thinking shows over the years, but are coming together for the first time to co-lead a trio that will feature both of their compositions as well as daring improvised explorations. Rounding out the band is one of Asheville’s finest drummers, Micah Thomas.
