PROTOGIRAFFE are a brand new high-energy fusion supergroup based out of Western North Carolina. Boasting some of the best up and coming talent that Appalachia has to offer, PROTOGIRAFFE blends elements of funk, jazz, rock, and R&B in a unique, refreshing, and innovative performance every time they hit. Initially formed in Boone, NC by keyboardist Isaac McMurry (Jacoozy, McMurry Brothers Band) and guitarist Lucas Ward (Redbud), PG went on to recruit bassist Alexander Golden (Metaphonia, McMurry Brothers Band) and drummer Kendrick Davis (Educated Guess) to round out the sound. More recently, Isaac and Lucas relocated to Asheville, while the band have added Charlotte, NC guitarist Nathan Harris (The Flood) to add another harmonic layer to the attack. The goal of every PROTOGIRAFFE show is to take the songs and players to the next level in a new place, while bringing along the audience for the experience.
