Andy Sydow & The Minor League

Ages 21 and up
Wednesday, August 13
Show: 10pm
Americana, rock, folk, singer-songwriter, Andy Sydow is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist who’s lyrics paint a picture of poetic realism. Touring consistently both solo and with his band (Andy Sydow & The Minor League), Sydow is known to sway an audience with acoustic guitar ballads, surprising keyboard chops, and even sing a few numbers on his lap steel. He draws comparisons to voices like Paul Simon and Jackson Browne, mixed with a roots rock vibe reminiscent of Tom Petty or Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats.

In a career spanning over a decade, Sydow has released several albums and singles, toured internationally, received Triple-A airplay, and climbed the AMA Charts. He has been a finalist in the Kerrville New Folk Songwriter Competition (twice!), and supported numerous acts including: John Hiatt, Shane Smith & The Saints, Dick Dale, Chuck Prophet, Tab Benoit, Samantha Fish, Lucero, and Anders Osborne.

2024 was a career defining one for Sydow, who released and toured on, ‘Night Skin’ (Oct 25, 2024), a full length album that was both produced by and featured Anders Osborne. Recorded at Dockside Studio in Maurice, LA, Mike Dillion and Casandra Faulconer rounded out the quartet on percussion and bass. The album release show at The Bluebird Theater in Denver was his biggest headlining show to date, drawing nearly 4oo. Three singles from the album, “Every Little Thing About Love” “Follow The Rain Down” and “In Love and a Hard Luck Sayer” were Sydow’s biggest streaming songs to date.

After going back to school to take online classes in orchestration and film composition, Sydow put his new skills to good use by arranging and scoring several of his original songs (as well as one Pearl Jam cover) for an orchestra. He worked with classical musicians in Denver to record a six-song EP entitled, Measure 1: Orchestral Arrangements by Andy Sydow, which was released to critical acclaim in December of 2023.

Aside from his own career as an artist and songwriter, Sydow has production credits that include: Lauren Frihauf (The Voice, Season 19), Payge Turner (The Voice, Season 19), AJ Fullerton, Racyne Parker, Rene Moffat, Veronica May, Ian Mahan, and Jcallen. He has also worked with several artists scoring horn and string arrangements.

When he’s not touring, writing, or recording, Sydow spends time talking to other creatives and music industry professionals on his podcast, Middle Class Rock Star. The hour”ish” long program can be found on all streaming platforms, and segments of the show have also been featured on over 30 FM radio stations. MCRS has played host to the likes of: Andy Frasco, Shane Smith & The Saints, Sunny War, Dango Rose (Elephant Revival), Jeremy Lawton (Big Head Todd & The Monsters), Todd Smallie (Derek Trucks, JJ Grey & Mofro), Mickey Raphael (Willie Nelson), Leftover Salmon, and Phil Cook.
