Wrealist plays original music, blending American roots with the groove-heavy improvisation of funk, jazz, and rock, carving out a sound that�s both soulful and unpredictable. Think Soulive, or Medeski, Martin & Wood, but with lyrics. The tunes are earthy yet experimental, grounded in tradition but always exploring new territory. Their songs weave storytelling with deep instrumental interplay, inviting listeners into an epic musical journey.
Ken Chapple brings his background in Jazz, latin, classical and bluegrass guitar and lays everything on the table in Realist, and is able to mix sweet tasteful melodies with screaming leads. Ken’s guitar playing is complimented by his singing and songwriting, as the lead vocalist, he brings his years of performing bluegrass, soul and country music. Ken is backed up by Andre Lyles (Melissa McKinney, JAMB Quartet) on bass, Alex Tolini (Commander Voodoo) on drums and Chris Burbach on keys.
